Stepping out of my comfort zone

I am a person that tries to do everything perfect, a type A personality, even in my art. Sometimes I get burned out or frustrated when something I am painting doesn't come out perfectly. This summer I decided to let go, try to not be perfect, paint things that are out of my comfort zone and with materials that I don't normally use. Just let go and have fun. :) It was tough at the beginning but I am learning to just go with it, do things the wrong way (not the way-techniques I was taught by my art teachers)

Here are some examples of my experiment

More behind the scenes

I got a horrible flu/cold/bug this past week but I am still finding some energy to work on my sketching and art journaling :)

4 boxes of kleenex already... Ugh!

Behind the Scenes!!!

Art is everywhere! its in every day life.
Since I never know when inspiration is going to strike or the muse will whisper in my ear, I have gotten to the habit of carrying with me a sketchbook with a couple of pencils and paint. I try to dedicate some time every day to tap into my creative self. Sometimes life gets extremely busy and it is hard to find the time its good to try... painting is very relaxing.
Here is a sneak peek behind the scenes :)
